Poorly lady, I can understand them having that policy but when they can see it's a little old lady would it have made really that much difference to let her leave her hat on in the pub.

We're just turning more and more into a police state :(

It does seem rather extreme! but I guess if they have a policy they have to stick to it regardless of age & whether the person seems innocent or not....can't be saying "o we'll let her off cos she's 80" that would then be deemed as ageist....can't win in this world!

What can I say. The world has gone mad! Its a little OTT really but I think possibly because the barmaid had that power she thought she would use it. I remember about the 2 yr old tot banned from a shop also and its ridiculous.
I took my niece in town yesterday and we went in one particular shop, she picked some biscuits up and I was still looking so she went to pay and wait for me but the girl behind the counter would not serve her and asked if she was on her own. She told her she was with me and I had to go stand with her while she got served. We asked why she wanted to know and she said they are not letting anyone under the age of 16 in the shop without their parents/ adults as they have been hanging around, causing trouble and pinching sweets and beer, which I do agree with but she wasnt causing any distress whatsoever so to me, because she could say it, she did when there was really no need which I think has probably happened to the lady.
Don't be glum and sit on your bum.
Be a go getter and you'll feel much better. x
