The Royal Family, are they worth the money?

Depends on your point of view I suppose (which is a daft thing for me to say given this is a forum so people are going to have differing points of view!). Do they bring in alot of money from tourism, trade/business etc? I don't know personally. Do they bring any other benefits to the people of the country? Again, don't really know. To be fair I've never really had much interest in them and what they do, but..........I guess if they bring in more than what they spend, then I suppose they do give value for money in that respect.

I think they are great. Look at the number of people from all over the world who will be flocking to London for the Royal Wedding, spending money in hotels, b&bs and the like, buying up postcards, souveniers, etc, using tube trains and public transport. Without the Royals where the hell would we be - a tiny little island gaining no respect from anybody. I appreciate why people think they are a waste of money but they have been the establishment for so many years I think we would be nothing without them.
