This is a discussion on Cuts In The Police within the Talking Point forums, part of the General Rants category; I have just heard on the BBC news that there are going to be big cuts in the Police budget, ...
I have just heard on the BBC news that there are going to be big cuts in the Police budget, I am fully aware the state of this countrys finances (after all it is constantly rammed down our throats) and i accept there has to be cuts, but surely the Police should be left alone. I dont know about other counties but Lancashire we are told as relatively low crime rates, that is not due to there being fewer criminals on the streets that is down to effective policing, and from what i can gather under the current budget, resources are still spread pretty thin so any further cuts can only mean fewer bobbies on the beat and the result of that will mean the criminals will come crawling out from underneath their stones to commit crimes. I would be interested to hear other peoples thoughts on this matter.

ohh don't get me started lol .. Politics and money - definitely the root of all evil and cause of all crap we are dealing with today.
Lol - I heard somewhere that we are the 52 state in America lol Starting to see what that person meant.
Where has all the good will gone - yet again rich get richer and poor get stamped on.
Bring back communes that opt out of society, politics and all the crap lolol
i agree chewy its ok for the rich but us poor has to suffer all the time it annoys me so much :(
With all the supposed forthcoming cuts in various areas, which apparently are going to affect alot of the lower paid members in communities, I can foresee crime on the increase - so where will the police be? They won't - does this mean there will be a surge in neighbourhood vigilantes? Quite frankly we are going from bad to worse!!!!
