imo tax the ciggys to bring down the petrol prices. Every other country can have cheaper petrol prices ,just shows how greedy our goverment is

Guess you do not smoke Noel.

I do not drive, I use public transport as I have no licence even though I am 32 years old. And most of the prices on ciggies already are taxes, at least in my country (one of the most expensive countries for petrol)

Maybe it is a good way to go to hybrid cars and save the environment :)
This Fox might out trick you but that does not mean I don't care

I don't smoke and I don't drive but why should tax be raised on one when the other is just as harmfull to health - people using cars to go short distances when they could walk - I know lots of people round by where I live that take their kids to school in their car when they could walk (and no they are not workers dropping kids off to school on way to work).

I don't know what the answer is but do know the goverment have a lot to answer for. I do know won tax should not hit one person more than any other - why hit the smokers - tax the rich they can afford it :)

i personally think there taxing the cigs higher coz they realise what revenue they have lost on cigs since the big campaign on no smoking... its just a cover saying to keep petrol lower how can making tax on smokers suffice the cost of petrol lol thats my theory anyway...
