Place your bets for this weekends final race of the 2011 Formula 1 season *cries*, the Brazilian Grand Prix held at Interlagos. Will Sebastian Vettel win again? Will McLaren and Lewis Hamilton continue their progress and round off the season with a win? Will Mark Webber, or home hero Felipe Massa score their first win of the season at the final race? Will we see a fully dry race weekend (unlikely!). Betting will be open until 3pm on Sunday afternoon, with the race starting at 4pm, live on BBC1 (and BBC1 HD for those of you who have it). Here are some classic Brazilian Grand Prix's from previous years.
1994: Michael Schumacher wins the first race of the season, with home hero, and legend, Ayrton Senna spinning out. This race also features a large accident involving 4 cars: BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Formula 1 | Classic F1 - Brazilian Grand Prix 1994
2001: David Coulthard wins in the rain after passing Michael Schumacher in a brave move. New star Jaun Pablo Montoya was on course for the win after a stunning pass on Michael Schumacher, before being taking out of the race while lapping Jos Verstappen: BBC Sport - Sergio Perez's classic F1 - Brazilian Grand Prix 2001
2003: 1 of the craziest races in F1 history, with a flooded track, 5 appearances by the Safety Car, including starting the race behind it, numerous spins and crashes, including Michael Schumacher, an enormous shunt which brought out the red flags and ended the race just past the crucial 75% race distance, local hero Rubens Barrichello retiring while in the lead, and a driver who was given the win days after the race finished, with his car catching fire in the pitlane at the end of the race, and Alonso ending up in hospital. Truly amazing stuff: BBC Sport - F1 - Tonio Liuzzi's classic F1 - Brazilian Grand Prix 2003
2007: Kimi Raikkonen wins the title in a 3 way battle for the title at the final race after Lewis Hamilton suffers problems: BBC Sport - F1 - Sergio Perez's classic F1 - Brazilian Grand Prix 2007
2008: The most amazing finish to a Grand Prix season ever. After the race is delayed due to a sudden shower moments before the start, Lewis Hamilton only wins the title on the final corner of the final lap of the final race of the season in the rain, to become World Champion: BBC Sport - F1 - Classic F1 - Brazilian Grand Prix 2008
Good luck to you all.
