Pet Insurance

we have 2 rabbits, and sadley no we dont have insurance. one of our rabbits was ill and it cost us £20 each visit , about 4 visits in the end. i have looked into insurance for them and its quite expensive. maybe ive looked in the wrong place and there are cheaper ones out there ??

We only do pet insurance for dogs and cats - couldn't insure our rabbit so lost out when some heartless person went into our back garden and stole her :(

I thought about insurance for my dog but i found it was very expensive so i haven't bothered with me being disabled there'a place i can go its called the pdsa its really good you can pay what you can afford and they are very good they really look after the animals they see

We have a PDSA here and they are amazing. When one of our cats needed treatment, we took him to local vet first, was charged £50 just for the vet to look at him, and give an Injection.

A few days later the Cat was no better, in fact the wound appeared worse.

We then went to the pdsa, was charged £15 and the care was spot on. The visit lasted around 15 minutes, and the cat was given further injections, a cat collar ( to prevent him scratching ) and, Tablets.

First class.

See you got all that care and attention for your cat from the pdsa, but from a normal vet you get next to nothing , everything today is about money, Magic's 1st visit to the vet and they saw pound signs ,why couldn't the vet give the cat all the treatment it required ,they were after him taking the cat back and would extort another 50 pounds for the tablets, and another 50 pounds for the collar.the good people at the pdsa did it all at once and for a donation of 15 quid , if 1 can do it for 15 quid surely the other could.

my dog ain't insured at the min, but am going to look in to it

In my opinion if you can't afford vets bills or even pet insurance (mine currently costs £16 per month for a large breed) then you shouldn't have a pet.

Relying on charities like the PDSA or RSPCA to cover vets bills pushes the prices up everywhere else. That money has got to come from somewhere...it makes me angry when you see people who follow 'fashion' and get a staffy or english bull terrier...these people (mainly blokes) are on the dole, smoke and drink heavily and then get away with paying £20 for £1000 worth of operation...
