Jack Higgins (Harry Patterson)

Jack Higgins is the main pseudonym of Harry Patterson (Bet you didn't know that). He was born 27 July 1929 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. He was raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland and then later in Leeds. He joined the army and found out that during his military service that he had a very high IQ and sharpshooting skills. After leaving the army he went back to studying, Sociology and supported himself as a driver and labourer. He became a teacher and started writing novels in 1959, eventually he left and became a fulltime novelist.

Other pseudonyms Harry Patterson has used are James Graham, Martin Fallon, and Hugh Marlowe

Some of Jack Higgins novels include The Eagle Has Landed, Eye of the Storm, Day of Reckoning, Dark Justice, Bad Company, Touch the Devil, Cold Harbour. Hell Is Too Crowded (writing as Harry Patterson), Comes the Dark Stranger (writing as Harry Patterson), The Wrath of God (writing as James Graham)

Many of Harry Patterson (Jack Higgins) books have been made into well known films, Thunder Point, On Dangerous Ground, Windsor Protocol, The Eagle has Landed, A Prayer for the Dying.
