Geocaching

Yeah, I've had a go. It's really good fun but I don't have a GPS. Must get one. You visit some really nice beauty spots - it's a worldwide thing so you can even do it if you go abroad on holiday. Certainly a cheap way of keeping kids entertained in the holidays.

yeah i've got to look into a GPS my phone isn't brainy enough to have it lol

sorry but without looking into and no doubt im opening a hornets nest of vile coments and abuse to be hurled in my direction but very sad people if thats all you can think ov doing whilst on holiday ; yes use it if ur work needs you to but come on folks get a life

Sorry Noel but don't knock it unless you've tried it and for most people it is not the ONLY thing that they can think of doing on their holiday.

It's not sad.............. it's good way of getting kids out walking when all they are really interested in doing these days is sitting in front of games machines.

I think it looks like good family fun ............... i saw the kids faces (and one big kids face) when they got back after finding a geo cash whilst we were away.

You can visit a Geocaching website which lists all the places in your own area where you can find caches. Why not visit it to get an idea of what it's all about. It is an excellent way of making a walk more interesting especially if you have kids - you don't necessarily have to live in the country either. In the present economic climate it is also a free activity - surely you can't argue with that one Noel.

Me, Chewy and the kids went off again today for another Geocaching session, and absolutely loved it.

It took us to places close by too us that we didnt know existed, glorious views, was a loveley day too.

William found 3 tiny tree frogs under a Tree trunk, and we did our first Multi - Cache, waypoints given to the first point, and from there on you have to solve riddles and clues to get to the next destination ect.

Noel, we are getting a life, were out in the open air, in glorious locations, and having loads of fun navigating to find hordes of hidden treasure. Best thing of all, once you have a basic GPS system, (a lot of phones come with it these days), ITS FREE...

So far, weve found 13 caches, and will be doing loads more.

I'm so glad you guys are enjoying it .................can't wait to come up and for you to show us what to do.............i've signed up to the site and we are researching for the best but cheapest GPS.

My bro is off on holiday this weekend...........they've done alot of the geo-cashes round where they are going but they are not going to let that stop them.................. it's not the REASON they go on holiday but it gives them a REASON to get out on the moors and enjoy it.

You see, you can all enjoy life virtually for free and get healthy too. Good on you all and I'm so pleased the kids are loving it - so much better than sitting in front of a TV screen playing games!!!
