Who will win the 2010 German Grand Prix at Hockenheim?

As promised, here's the first bit of information I'll be posting this week, which may help people decide who to bet on. This concerns the weather forecast for Hockenheim.

As it stands, Friday is likely to be warm, but potentially VERY wet (for those of you who follow F1 closely, if you remember the stormy conditions and 3 hour qualifying session at Interlagos (Brazil) last year, it could be like that). This will of course mean the teams aren't able to test out the 2 tyre compounds for the race as much as they'd like to. The compounds for the race are the supersoft, and hard (softest and hardest in the range). The same applies to cars testing new parts. Saturday could also be wet, albeit not as wet as Friday. It could be dry, it could be wet, it could be a mixture, so this has the potential to create a strange grid. Sunday looks likely to be dry, with a small chance of showers. Hopefully this may help a bit. If not, let me know.

So, onto the 2nd (and possibly final) pre race update from me before betting closing. The weather is looking difficult to predict now, it's changing all the time. Onto what we can possibly expect in terms of teams at the front. Red Bull (Vettel and Webber) have the fastest car, but keep having mechanical problems, and so they're not doing as well as they should be, but they'll be expected to fight for victory, and seem to be favourites, and rightly so. McLaren (Button and Hamilton) are also up there, and despite having to test a few new parts this weekend, they can also be expected to be up the front. The slight outsiders are Ferrari (Alonso and Massa), but they've improved recently, and are in with a shout of a win, albeit less likely than McLaren and Red Bull. The only other realistic contenders, and Mercedes (Rosberg and Schumacher), especially with it being Mercedes, Rosberg, and Schumacher's home race. They likely won't fight for victory, but it's certainly not impossible. Hope this helps, and good luck.

I've decided, for a one off, to extend the betting time up until 1pm on Sunday (race start). This is because first practice was very wet, and drying out, second practice looks like it'll be wet, and Saturday also looks like it could be wet, including for qualifying. I appreciate those of you (me included) may be slightly disadvantaged by this change, however, it's a one off, and I think it's the best decision. Had the original forecast stayed as it was (wet Friday, dry Saturday and Sunday), I likely wouldn't be making this change. However, the forecast has changed (again), and so I've decided to make the change. Hope nobody has any problems with this, but if so, and a few people have a problem with it, I'm quite happy to put it back to how it was.

I'm not going to settle the bet yet, despite nobody betting on either Ferrari driver, as there is a risk that after what happened today, the result may change.

Good idea, i didnt see the tace, but there cetainly seems some controversy over "team orders".

Care to explain a little more in simple terms what thats all about ?
