For me, I have to admit i like a good action film, but can settle down quite happily with a romantic comedy or horror :)
Shawshank Redemption ranks high on my list, along with the likes of gladiator.
Ill divulge more as this thread progresses, so, what Film did it for you ?

Well the 1st film i ever saw that i remember and whilst i was at middle school, and it was an after school activity in the dining hall, and cost mum 50p for me to watch was to be a weekly thing and we watched 6 films all told. The 1st 1 was Planet of the Apes.. i was around 7 or 8 lol and we found that scary
Cheeky aren't I
I guess the romantic in me show's now as one of my favourite films is Pretty Woman, I love the music in it, and the whole fairytale side of the story.
It's about a prostitute (Julia Roberts) who meets a rich man (Richard Gere) and falls in love with him and he with her - but doesn't know it, all her little escapades and innocence and the way she is, is so funny.
Another one of my favourites is Remains of the Day - Sir Anthony Hopkins as a butler in a large house who is very professional, but is also in love with the housekeeper - it's a story about them.
Mrs Brown - Billy Connolly and Dame Judy Dench - fantastic film - lol I've got loads of favourite films.
Infact, I will watch pretty much anything, I like the good ole horrors, fantasy films, action etc.
I'm an extremely emotional person when it comes to films. I remember years ago seeing "Ryan's Daughter" at the cinema with a boyfriend and must have cried for at least 45 minutes. He was horrified. The next week it was "Love Story". He said, "I'll take you if you promise not to cry". (I know it's a very dated film now but at the time I lived it!). As "Love Story" progressed I could feel a lump in my throat but thought "I musn't cry". Eventually I felt faint so went to the "Ladies", sat on the floor and had to actually put my head between my knees (couldn't do that now as I've put on too much weight - LOL!!!). By the time I returned to the cinema the credits were coming up. It was a very long time before I watched it on TV in my home and cried buckets for ages.
i love green mile, dirty dancing, and as long as a film has a good story line then i'll watch it if not then i'm on sofa asleep whilst film is still on lol
Mrs Brown is one of my favourites too. I wish I was your age and not old enough to be your mother - we have alot in common don't we? Are you like this with other Edmunds relatives (no matter how far removed - LOL!)
lolol I just see age as number and most of my friends are older than me - I have been told I have an old head on my shoulders - but I seem to get on well with anyone an everyone whatever their age. lol
The other relatives I've spoken to the majority are male men in their 70's I've had some really good conversations with them - mostly about genealogy - don't think they are brave enough to come here - even through I have asked and told them about our website.
We'll definatly have to have a good natter on the phone and meet up sometime.
We do seem to have a lot in common - Mrs Brown was a brilliant film :)
The best film i ever watched was The Green Mile its quite a sad film though i would watch over and over again
