Unwanted private messages Hopefully, this should not effect you in any way, but have you received any spam messages by private message or as a post made on your profile?
By spam message, I am referring to any messages that are either trying to sell you something or advertising other sites.
If you have, could you send me PM including the users name and a brief idea of the content of the message.
The reason I ask for this information is simply that I myself received one recently. I guess the spammer failed to spot the fact that I am the owner :D

Awards: Re: Unwanted private messages Thanks ninj, as I mentioned, you "shouldn't" get any unsolicited messages. I have put various security tweaks in place to try and catch them at the registering stage. Even if they do get through, I have settings in place that detect URL posts.
The technology that the spammers use have improved and the Bots are getting smarter all the time, so it's an ongoing battle really. Generally, spam bots trawl the internet looking for Forums, Blogs, Contact Forms, Wikis etc, with the sole purpose of submitting links back to other sites. They do this to try and get higher rankings in the search engines. More frequently however, these links can often take you to a website, whereby simply visiting the link can give you a Virus.
