You judge

A picture is nice to see and does make the post nicer at times but I do have to say that this still remains a forum and not an art gallery.

In case of the flower thread it has a purpose to show a picture, as some may not know the flower or you want to share a special flower.

So I did vote option 1 but I do want to point out that I think it should only have a purpose and that the forum should not be turned into posts filled with pictures just because it looks nice.

i knows its a forum, but isnt it our forum ? surely we can post whatever we want as long as is clean ,doesnt offend anybody .i think it helps , i will vote for option 1 , its gotta brighten up every1s day looking at pictures along with what people are writing about...........thanks for taking time out of your day to read this post ttfn

i'll explain my reason for voting the way i did-there wasnt a middle option of 'only if the thread or post warrants a picture' so really i had to go for 'sat on the fence' because though it makes it look better,it only makes it look better if the picture is needed (such as the flower thread) so hope everyone understands/accepts my reasoning,as there wasnt any 'middle ground' as it were

Personally, i like to see pictures.

However, we have a dedicated Picture gallery. Pictures in posts are no problem, as long as its relevent to the post or topic. Sometimes a picture speaks a thousand words.

The attachment option is meant for this very purpose, and earns you extra credits, so feel free to use it if you feel its appropriate.

I think some of you might have misunderstood what I have meant, so I will try to explain a little bit more...

What I meant with it should have a purpose is to avoid things like the following example:

When for instance we are having a serious discussion about something like politics or whatever and someone posts a reply with a picture of a clown, it has no purpose and it might even degrade the discussion. That might lead to offending someone.

Also what would be easy is to earn credits by just posting some links with pictures. I don't think this has a value to a forum like this.

So to me the pictures could indeed give extra value but only if the thread and the pictures relate with one and another, like a birthday thread with birthday pics and the favourite flower thread with a picture of your favourite flower. It would not have a value if I would paste a nice picture of a car in the flower thread now would it?

I think we understood you the first time, maybe you only posted again to get some more credits lol
