Well locked up in that cell with 2 other guys I didn’t know was daunting .went to sleep fully dressed that 1st night ,as I had heard stories about what happened to young boys in jail;
Was a case of stand up to the bullies or you would become week and they would prey on you, you all seen the movies, it really is like that in some prisons.

The authorities were asking me loads of questions, where I was from, which schools I attended, as I was in prison under an alias I dint have any answers so I made them up .thought I was doing a good job too, then when I was summoned to the governors office and told there was no record of any person ever being born, or schooled in my name I knew that before long they would find out I was a 15 year old runaway.

Days passed into weeks, locked up 23 hours a day, 1 hour 4 exercise rest ova the time banged up with just your thoughts to keep you busy or your cellmates to talk to.3 of you sharing 1 rollup, splitting matches in half with razor blades, you couldn’t lay on your bed during the day,, sitting on wooden seats for hours on end was exciting as the day got,
Meal times was interesting the lads serving it to you ,if they didn’t like the look of you you got a smaller portion than the bloke next to you in the queue ,

After 9 months running away from things I was eventually found out .threw fingerprints
Photos and again I was brought up in front ova the governor and told as I wasn’t an adult I would have to go back to Leeds and face the consequences and my parents and the trouble I had caused the stealing ova the cars would be dealt with once I was back in Leeds
I was escorted back to my cell to await 2 coppers from Leeds who were driving down to Kent to transport me back to Leeds….this was called a gate arrest as I learned from the convicts I was sharing a cell with.
A few days passed then I was in handcuffs waiting for the cops from Leeds to show up.
Once in there car I was allowed them of and our journey began back to Leeds
Every time the car stopped for petrol or a toilet break/food break I was cuffed, they didn’t want me doing a runner.
We got back to Leeds around 4pm, into holdback police station were I was booked in and escorted to a cell, the cops were going to ring mum and dad and get some tea


Around 6 pm they brought me a meal with a cup of lukewarm tea. No sugar.
Eight pm I was put into a cell and told to wait, 10 mins later in walked a cop with dad behind him,, haha I thought at least u cant hit me in front of the cops, but I knew by the way he was looking at me the contempt and hate he had for me that I would get a beating somewhere down the line


Question after question was asked everything I said put onto paper, dad, cops wanted to know every detail of what I had done since I left Leeds, I told them, but only bits and bobs, not everything.
And then I was charged with theft (mums rent money. and child benefit book, those who are following shod remember) and appeared in Leeds magistrates the following morning I was pleaded guilty thought it would get it over and done with, but no judge wanted social reports and so put me into the custody of the local authorities wouldn’t be going home for another 6 weeks.
