1970 saw me at my 1st football match down at elland rd ,dad said it was a treat got the tickets from a m8 who new a m8 who new a m8s dad if you know what I mean.
I hadn’t seen as many people in my life ,no fences to hold you in and no seats either,90 minutes was a long time for a little lad to stand up lol.

Weeks later Dad took us all to the train station with suitcases packed ,he had to go working away and a house was part of the deal so we all got the train down to Weston super- mare , 6 weeks we were there all told, sun ,sea and sand .but I spoilt it for everyone. Mum .sis me and our kid , we met dad in a café on the Friday , we was drinking pop , mam and dad was at another table talking.
Dad asked us right out what did we want to do ,we could stay in Weston super mare until the job was finished or he would put us on the train home.
Every one had to agree , I didn’t evey1 wanted to stay, no school , sea sand everything else in favour of staying ,but as 1 of them pointed out our dog wouldn’t know us by the time we got back, I sat it that café screaming my heart out until they agreed to take us home to leeds so I could see the dog
I don’t think I was 2 popular that weekend
After all the fuss about the dog I think I fussed over it for all of 5 mins then wanted to go see me nana.
