I have recently been reading about diets where people are told to drink two glasses of water before a meal, thus filling the stomach with no calories and feeling fuller the dieter eats less.
This can aid to weight loss but abused can cause death.
Although we need water to survive too much in one go can kill us .. take a read of the following links - shocking but very serious and true.

I must agree though with the general findings that if you drink water with a meal, it is healthier than drinking pints of it before.
People who exercise now adays drink PowerAde and drinks with high calalorie and energy suppliment - which is actually better than water (read the first BBC article)
I think the lesson here is too much of anything is bad for you - little and often with a varied diet of healthy and now and again unhealthy treats - with exercise is the only way to loose weight sensibly.

Thanx for that Chewy. Interesting links. I agree with you, everything in moderation and you can't go wrong. This country's obesity problem is due to the fact that we all just overeat. When you look at old movies and wartime footage - you very rarely see large people!
